Monahans High School

The Monahans Lobo swim team benefits from a modern facility, the MHS Aquatic Center, which features a 500-seat natatorium with 8 competitive swim lanes. This state-of-the-art pool is part of the Jerry Larned Sports Complex and includes ten 25-meter lanes or twelve 25-yard cross-course lanes, diving boards, and a fully integrated electronic timing system. The team is currently coached by Jay Thomas, who is also the principal at Monahans Education Center.  Coach Thomas is active with the team, even sharing updates on platforms like TikTok. Under his guidance, Monahan's swimmers have achieved all-district honors, and he serves as a reference for athletes pursuing college recruitment. The Lobo swim team competes in the UIL Class 4A.
